14 February 2014 - 7 March 2014Fresh Meat represents how emerging 21st Century artists respond to the present, reflect upon the past, and ultimately objectify their ideas of what it means to be an artist today. The show consists of various crafted art practices curated together to form a dialogue of juxtapositions and harmonies. Various sculptural examples of materiality invite the viewer to explore between the illusionistic and the haptic, the representational and the abstracted, amongst the vast and the intimate.
These emerging artists reflect an example of the versatility and dexterity of what the human mind is capable of seeing. Reinventing, reimagining and re-contextualising the basic rules and implications within fine art practice, striving to challenge the conventional and critique preconception within the nature of their subject matter.
Fresh Meat features work from; Andy Allen, Lucy Buzzacott, Philip Clarke, Martin Clarkson, Jane Cook, Tom Cusack, Christopher Docherty, Richard Fitton, Jessica Griffith, Natalie Hallows, Francis Reynolds, Ian Tricker, Aimee Wilcock and William Wood.
